If the People Around Me Would Just Change!

Its been fun to express myself on the blog. Hope to continue and share my views.

I was reading my mailbox today, i got this message that i wish to share…

“Do you find yourself frustrated by the same types of occurrences in your life – over and over again? Perhaps it is the aggressive people in the traffic you endure daily during your commute. Maybe it is the behavior of someone you deal with regularly who does not behave as you think they should. Or perhaps you do not like where you live, your job, your looks or some other aspect of your daily life. Your happiness does not have to be based on what happens around you or to you. On more than one occasion, I have learned this important lesson:

You won’t become happy if someone else changes or if the world around you changes.
You become happy when you change.

From a Greek prison cell, the apostle Paul wrote, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,” (Philippians 4:12). This month, I challenge you to choose happiness despite what happens around you. It is not what happens to you or what goes on around you that ultimately shapes your character and state of being. It is how you choose to respond to it. Things or people around you may be frustrating, but is your response to it making it more stressful or less stressful for you? Here are a few of the ways that you can make frustrating circumstances more stressful:

• Regularly complaining about your circumstances. Some people complain to anyone who will listen. Others complain repeatedly to themselves or the person closest to them. Make a decision to stop complaining. Find a solution or accept the situation as is.
• Always expecting the worst in people. Do you feel like the world is against you? If so, you’ll respond to every situation in fear rather than love, thereby escalating the intensity of any potential conflict and its impact on your emotional state of being.
• Taking it personally when strangers are rude or inconsiderate. Have you noticed lately that people in general seem to be stressed and less considerate of others than they used to be? It has nothing to do with you. People have issues. So choose not to respond as though you are being personally attacked. If you do, you’ll find yourself in victim mode nearly every time you leave your house!
• Blaming others for your unhappiness. “If only my spouse/kids/boss/friends would change, I would be happy.” Do you ever find yourself saying something like this to yourself? Blaming others gives us an excuse not to take responsibility for our own happiness. Don’t give your power away to others.
• Feeling sorry for yourself. “Why me? Why am I the one who has to deal with this? Everybody else’s life is better.” The truth is, everyone has to deal with something. Ask, “What’s the lesson here? How can I come out of this a better person?” Choose to allow challenges to strengthen your faith rather than diminish it.

So how can you change when the world around you remains the same? You make a decision to do so. The key is to respond rather than react. A reaction is automatic. It doesn’t require thought and is generated by external happenings. A response is inspired – generated internally through thought, contemplation and prayer. It means that despite the external happenings, you choose to answer button-pushing situations in a way that honors your desire for peace and happiness in your life.

Your decision to change does not mean that rude people are right or that frustrating friends or family members are not to be accountable for their words and actions. It simply means that your happiness and peace are not determined by what they do. Don’t wait in vain for others to change or the world around you to change. You make the change. “

PERCEPTION

I was listening to the lyrics of a song this morning while on my way to the office. The word perception caught my attention. The lyrics goes thus:

“If i have a million dollar in my account, i wear the best designers clothes, but yet am not feeling fulfil, its all about my perception. I was in Brazil oneday, i saw a guy who want to sing like me, but he was extremely poor and blind, he told me that if i can see the world through my inner mind, i will be great. I return to America with the words and i faced challenges, I come to realize that with perception i can change my world. You should thank God that you are not paying to laugh, put a smile on your face, cos there’s hope……….”

As i listen to the lyrics, i ponder within me that with perception i can change my world. though i may not be able to afford somethings now, but if i have good perception about myself, am a different person.

VALENTINE !!!!!!!

Hey!!

The season of love is in the air again. Well, everyday should be a love season because we are created to love as our Father in heaven loves us.

To the gist, the season of valentine is already creating tension in the air. The guy is thinking what romantic gift he going to give his love, the lady likewise is thinking which moves she going to take to show that she really cares. The business world is coming up with different brands and packaging, presenting people with different options to chose from. Each of these options is in class or grades depending on how far your pocket can go………..uhhh!!!

What is the real true love? Must the season be around so pronounce before we can show that we care? Do we really love in the true sense of love or it’s in the concept of lust? How I wish true love is expressed in the true sense of its expression and it’s taken as a daily aspect of our individual lives.

Let look at the words of this poem:

 The Magic Of Love

Love is like magic
And it always will be.
For love still remains
Life’s sweet mystery!!
Love works in ways
That are wondrous and strange
And there’s nothing in life
That love cannot change!!
Love can transform
The most commonplace
Into beauty and splendor
And sweetness and grace.

For it sees with its heart
And not with its mind!!
Love is the answer
That everyone seeks…

Yeah!!!!

Yeah!! This V/I sef. man could not eat the breakfast as appropriate time again. All because man must leave home early to avoid the lagos-crazy hold-up that you wouldn’t know the cause. Its now a make- shift thing. I try to keep myself towards 12 pm, but the repercussion is headache, because my job involve designs and calculations.  Doctor said i must eat early!

Wetin man go do, than to rely on biscuits, fried yam+ plantain and tea, all to hold stomach till lunch. Eh! how long will it continue………………………..

DREAM!!!!!!

I was listening to a radio presenter this morning, he said “if the whole world can leave hatred for a minute, hour, day and just dream that the world will be a better place”.

I pause at the statement and look into the word “dream”. In the real sense, if we can all dream, dream about what we want to achieve, where we want to be, how to overcome the challenges and obstacles and dream of living life to the fullness, there will be no room for hatred, malice, segregation, neglect,……….etc.

Let dream the dreams, fill our heart positively and give no room to negative feeling.

RULE YOUR WORLD!!!!!!!

The world is coming to the full understanding of what is called self esteem. Recent adverts can testify to this.

GLO came out with its own share by saying “Rule Your World”. The advert that trip me is the one concerning the guy that was noticed to be happy, envy no one and take his work to another level by his girlfriend. Come to think of it, if every man or person can understand that there is high dignity in self esteem, there would be no room for thought of been rejected. No matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter your level in the society, what will make the difference for you is your self esteem.

Guinness came out with their own version saying ” There’s Greatness in Every Man”. It’s true!!! Our Father has placed in each and every man an element of being great. The great men of today are not made overnight. They look inward to their inner being and talk to themselves that they can make a change. This propel them to drive to achieving the greatness they desire.

You have every endownment in you to rule your world. I , have made up my mind that no matter the challenges, circumstances and hurdles, nothing will hold me down. I choose to rule my world and make a difference in my world. WHAT ABOUT YOU!!!……………
